Travel has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.
When I was a child, we would go on long road trips camping along the way and visiting relatives. As I grew older, the trips grew longer and farther away. A few months in the former Soviet Union, 6 weeks in South America, 2 weeks here or there in Europe, and countless weeks in Mexico.
The culture, the people, the food, the sites, the history, it all fascinated me and as soon as we got home, I would ask where we were going next. It was always a family affair with my dad at the helm showing us how to pack, how to research, how to communicate with people but most of all, how to experience the culture. I have stayed in homes of people we just met along the way, to the most luxurious 5- star properties.
When I headed off to college it landed on me to make my own adventures happen. I would scrimp and save, research obsessively and cajole and persuade my friends to go everywhere and anywhere with me. We ended up sleeping on trains and in airports but also marveling at the majesty of the Sistine Chapel to white water rafting in Switzerland and everything in between.
I was always the leader and the one everyone counted on to make sure it all went well.
As a mom, it all changed again and was about family travel. How can I still go everywhere and keep the kids entertained and engaged? I’ll give you a hint, it involved a lot of snacks.
Now as an empty nester I’m once again reimagining the travel landscape. Trips these days consist of adult activities which isn’t to say we don’t have a ton of fun too. Private boat rides in the Aeolian Islands, wine tasting in the Douro Valley and lots and lots of surfing all across Europe.
Travel has been my greatest teacher, revealing the world's wonders to me. Now as a dedicated travel advisor, I'm committed to sharing that wisdom and passion with you, crafting unforgettable journeys that open your eyes to the beauty and diversity of our world.
